Asian Cricket Foundation (ACF), an arm of the Asian Cricket Council which takes care of the marketing side of ACC will be organizing three junior tournaments involving India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in the next 4 months with an idea of strengthening the cricket relations between these Asian Countries. These tournaments will be played one each in Sri Lanka, Pakistan and India.
The Chairman of ACF, Mr. Jagmohan Dalmiya was instrumental in getting these junior tournaments going which was decided at the last ACF meeting in June in London. These tournaments will form as a package and it will be played as The Emerging Teams Trophy between India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka from 27th September – 5th October 2003.
Then the ACF U19 Quadrangular Tournament will see Bangladesh joining the three TEST playing countries which will be held in Pakistan from 31st October – 6th November 2003. The final leg of this package will see a tournament featuring the ŒA‚ teams of India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka that is scheduled to be played in India in December 2003.
The success of these tournaments is crucial for Asian Cricket Council as it will serve as a stepping stone to senior level of Indo-Pak cricket. Talks have been going on in generating finances for these tournaments and a positive response is expected soon.ACF Junior Tournaments 2003
